Basic hygiene shouldn’t be something you have to teach to grown adults…
But unfortunately, that’s the case for many. When you share an office with people, and especially when you share food with folks in that office, how do you ensure you’re keeping yourself and everyone else free of germs and other airborne bacteria?
Well, wash your hands for one. Also, don’t put your hands on every bagel in the office bagel spread. That should be common sense, I know. The colleague in this next story manages to surpass common sense and actually has uncommon sense instead. Stick with me.
When the office brings in food, please reach for one thing and refrain from touching others (unless you plan on taking that one, too). When another colleague calls out the woman who touches all of the bagels with her bare hands, they end up calling her “mom” in a snotty manner. It’s important to note that the bagel-toucher is an older woman, and still behaves in this way.
