SZA Releases New Song “Save the Day”: Stream

SZA has released a new song, “Save the Day,” for humans — and robo-beavers — everywhere.

The singer’s new track, “Save the Day,” is set to appear on Disney and Pixar’s upcoming film, Hoppers. According to Laughing Place, the track will play during the end credits of the movie. Stream the track below.

When you hear its melancholic atmosphere, “Save the Day” will put you in a better mood. The soft track touches on missions and commitments, suggesting that the film will have a happy-ish ending.

“Save the Day” originally came about because Hoppers director Daniel Chong is reportedly a big fan of SZA’s music. In a recent press panel, Chong revealed that he used her songs as placeholders for the end credits. “Every time we did put a song there, it was a SZA song,” he said. “We used ‘Good Days’ once, and then we used ‘Saturn’ once.”

“And there’s just a vibe for those two songs that I think had a melancholy (feel) to it, and a sort of joy but sadness to it that really felt like that is the mood for the end of the movie,” Chong added. This ultimately led to him reaching out to SZA to create a song once she got off “The Grand National Tour” with Kendrick Lamar.

Hoppers hits movie theaters on March 6th. The film, which stars Piper Curda, Bobby Moynihan, and Jon Hamm, follows a young woman named Mabel who has her mind transferred to a robotic beaver so she can communicate with animals and help save their habitat.
